Oncidium Tom Mirenda

A striking intergeneric hybrid of Onc. cirrhosum × Oto. candelabrum, producing spikes with medium to large, velvety flowers of exceptional presence. The broadly spreading sepals and petals have a strongly undulate and irregular margin, while the prominent trilobed lip features a finely fringed bilobed frontal lobe, a vivid orange central callus with visible filaments, and a contrasting white column.

• Light: Bright indirect light with 50–65% shade cloth; avoid direct midday sun, which can stress the robust pseudobulbs and lanceolate foliage.
• Temperature: 57–75°F (14–24°C); an intermediate grower that benefits from a slight nighttime temperature drop to encourage spike initiation.
• Humidity: 60–80%; consistent moisture supports vigorous growth and the production of large, well-formed flowers.
• Watering: Water thoroughly and allow the medium to approach dryness between waterings; never allow roots to sit in standing water.

Additional Notes

Best grown in a medium bark mix with good drainage and airflow around the roots. Plants are shipped bare root, well established, and ready to adapt quickly to their new growing environment.
