A robust and architecturally striking species from the cloud forests of South America, forming upright, fan-like growths without prominent pseudobulbs. Flowers are produced in dense terminal clusters at the apex of the stems, with narrow, spreading tepals and a small, rounded, deeply pigmented lip — an unusual and eye-catching inflorescence structure rarely seen in the genus.
Additional Notes
Best grown in a well-draining bark-based mix in a medium pot. A distinctive collector's species prized for its unusual, terminal cluster inflorescence and bold growth habit. Shipped bare root in well-established condition.
I'm looking forward to seeing how this plant does for me. In Northeast New Jersey, we have warm, slightly humid spring, summer & early fall . Therefore, I think I will be ok placing this plant in the shade and watering moderately.
The question is how will it do in the winter? Wish me luck, lol.
