Описание

Описание

A robust epiphytic species native to the cloud forests of Ecuador, known for its striking, waxy flowers and compact, clumping growth habit. The blooms emerge singly from the base of the pseudobulbs, featuring broad, spreading sepals and a distinctly fleshy, cupped lip.

  • Light: Bright indirect light with 50–60% shade cloth; avoid direct midday sun, which can scorch the leaves.
  • Temperature: 55–68°F (13–20°C); an intermediate-cool grower that appreciates a slight temperature drop at night to stimulate blooming.
  • Humidity: 60–80%; high humidity promotes healthy root activity and consistent flowering.
  • Watering: Water thoroughly and allow the mix to approach dryness between waterings; avoid prolonged saturation at the roots.

Additional Notes

This large-sized division is well-established and ready to bloom. Best grown in a fine bark or sphagnum-based mix in a basket or slotted pot to ensure excellent drainage and airflow around the roots. Ships bare-root in prime condition.
