Hoya merrillii long leaf

This is an attractive epiphytic vine (Wax Plant) native to the Philippines. The 'long leaf' variant is highly prized for its elongated, glossy, lance-shaped leaves that feature beautiful, prominent veining. 

• Light: Requires bright, indirect light to encourage compact growth and intense leaf coloration. While it tolerates a few hours of soft morning sun, protect it from harsh, direct afternoon sun to prevent leaf burn.
• Temperature: Prefers intermediate to warm conditions. The ideal range is 65-85°F (18-29°C). It is sensitive to cold; ensure temperatures never drop below 50°F (10°C).
• Humidity: Medium to high humidity (60% or higher) is best for vigorous growth, although it is typically adaptable to average indoor household humidity. Good air circulation is always beneficial.
• Watering: Allow the well-draining medium to dry out almost completely before watering thoroughly. Its semi-succulent leaves store water, making it vulnerable to rot if left sitting in moist or soggy conditions. 

Additional Notes

Once mature, it produces clusters of waxy, star-shaped flowers that are usually pale yellow or cream. The blooms are fragrant and can appear repeatedly from the same flower spur; do not remove the spent flower stalks.
