Information

Entada polyphylla

A fast-growing tropical legume tree from the forests of South America and the Caribbean, with a slender woody stem and gracefully arching bipinnate leaves composed of numerous small, rounded leaflets with a soft, papery texture. Pendant seed pods develop along thin, wiry racemes, adding ornamental interest to the canopy.

  • Light: Full sun to bright indirect light; thrives outdoors in open or lightly filtered positions with at least 6 hours of direct sun daily.
  • Temperature: 64–86°F (18–30°C); a warm tropical grower that does not tolerate frost; protect from temperatures below 50°F (10°C).
  • Humidity: Moderate to high humidity (50–70%); adapts well to humid tropical and subtropical environments.
  • Watering: Water regularly during the growing season, allowing the top layer of substrate to dry slightly between waterings; avoid waterlogging at the root zone.
  • Growth Habit: Upright, branching tree with a naturally open canopy; vigorous grower that responds well to pruning to maintain shape and size.

Additional Notes
