Cyrtochilum myanthum

Cyrtochilum myanthum is a distinctive Andean orchid admired for its graceful inflorescences and clusters of intricately detailed flowers. As the blooms open along the arching spikes, they create a lively, textured display that brings the uncommon beauty of a high-elevation cloud forest orchid into the collection.

Care Guide

• Light: Provide bright, filtered light. Avoid intense midday sun, which may scorch the foliage.
• Water: Water regularly during active growth, allowing the growing medium to approach dryness between waterings without remaining dry for long.
• Humidity: Maintain moderate to high humidity with strong, consistent air circulation.
• Temperature: Grow in cool to intermediate conditions with cooler nights. Protect the plant from prolonged heat.
• Growing medium: Use an airy, fast-draining orchid mix that retains light moisture while allowing excellent oxygen flow around the roots.

With stable cool conditions and attentive care, Cyrtochilum myanthum develops into an elegant specimen whose abundant, finely formed blooms reward close observation.
