Corytoplectus speciosus

Corytoplectus speciosus is a striking tropical gesneriad grown for its richly textured foliage, colorful flowers, and ornamental fruit. The bold contrast between its leaves and reproductive displays gives the plant a lush, jewel-like presence that stands out in a terrarium, greenhouse, or humid indoor collection.

Care Guide

• Light: Provide bright, filtered light or gentle shade. Avoid direct sun, which can scorch the foliage.
• Water: Keep the growing medium consistently and lightly moist, but never waterlogged. Do not allow the plant to remain dry for long.
• Humidity: High humidity supports healthy leaves and steady growth. Maintain gentle air circulation to reduce stagnant conditions.
• Temperature: Grow in warm, stable conditions and protect the plant from cold drafts or sudden temperature changes.
• Growing medium: Use a rich, airy, well-draining mix that holds moisture while allowing oxygen to reach the roots.

With its dramatic foliage and changing display of flowers and fruit, Corytoplectus speciosus offers layered tropical interest and makes a memorable addition to a carefully maintained collection.
