Information

Oncidium roseoides 'Ecuagenera'

A selected cultivar of this floriferous epiphyte native to the cloud forests of Ecuador, producing long spikes densely set with numerous medium-sized flowers along well-branched secondary rachises. The ovate-lanceolate sepals and petals have a smooth, velvety texture, while the compact trilobed lip features a narrow frontal lobe and a contrasting white anther cap at the column tip.

  • Light: Bright indirect light with 50–60% shade cloth; avoid direct sun, which can stress the slender pseudobulbs and foliage.
  • Temperature: 54–72°F (12–22°C); an intermediate to cool grower that benefits from a nighttime temperature drop to encourage spike initiation.
  • Humidity: 65–80%; consistent moisture supports healthy growth and the production of densely flowered spikes.
  • Watering: Water thoroughly and allow the medium to approach dryness between waterings; never allow roots to sit in standing water.

Additional Notes

This Ecuagenera-selected clone is distinguished by its exceptional flower density and vigor. Plants are shipped bare root, well established, and ready to adapt quickly to their new growing environment.
