Описание

This miniature epiphytic orchid grows by means of a slow-growing, branching rhizome, often on moss-covered branches and trunks.

  • Light: Requires moderate light to semi-shade with light levels generally between 12,000–23,000 lux, and avoiding direct afternoon sun.
  • Temperature: Cultivate as a cool-growing to intermediate plant, with average daytime temperatures between 65-73°F (18-23°C) and night temperatures between 55-57°F (13-14°C).
  • Humidity: Needs high humidity, maintaining levels between 70% and 80%, with a slight decrease during winter.
  • Watering: Water frequently and heavily during the active growing period to keep the medium consistently moist, especially if mounted, but ensure excellent drainage to prevent the roots from remaining soggy.

Additional Notes

This species produces delicate, fragrant flowers held on basal inflorescences below the pseudobulb. These up 3 cm blooms emit a distinctive musky scent that attracts ants, suggesting a fascinating symbiotic relationship in nature.
