Brassia aurantiaca big 'Gigi'

Brassia aurantiaca big 'Gigi' is a robust spider orchid selection valued for its large, vividly colored blooms with the characteristic long, spidery petals of the Brassia genus. This standout 'Gigi' selection offers extra-large flowers and vigorous growth, making it a striking centerpiece for orchid collectors.

Care Guide

  • Light: Bright, indirect light; a spot with filtered morning sun supports strong flowering.
  • Water: Water regularly, allowing the growing medium to dry slightly between waterings; avoid letting roots sit in standing water.
  • Temperature: Prefers warm to moderate conditions between 60-85°F (16-29°C); avoid sudden temperature swings.
  • Humidity: Thrives with humidity above 60%; misting or a humidity tray helps in drier environments.
  • Potting Mix: Use a well-draining orchid mix, such as bark, perlite, and sphagnum moss, to keep roots healthy.
  • Fertilizer: Feed lightly with a balanced orchid fertilizer during the growing season to encourage large, vibrant blooms.

With bright light and consistent care, Brassia aurantiaca big 'Gigi' rewards growers with an impressive show of large, spidery, sunset-colored blooms.
