Information

Anthurium scolopendrinum 'Pangui'

A selected clone of a narrow-leaved species from Ecuador, grown as a rosette of long, lanceolate to elliptic leaves with an acuminate apex, attenuate base, and smooth texture. The prominent midrib runs the full length of each leaf, and the plant freely produces slender spadices — a sign of vigor and maturity in established specimens.

  • Light: Bright indirect light with up to 70% shade cloth; avoid direct sun, which scorches the narrow leaf margins.
  • Temperature: 65–82°F (18–28°C); an intermediate to warm grower that appreciates stable conditions with good air circulation.
  • Humidity: 60–80%; consistent humidity supports vigorous growth and prevents tip desiccation on the long leaves.
  • Watering: Water thoroughly when the top inch of substrate begins to dry; never allow roots to sit in standing water or dry out completely.
  • Growth Habit: Open rosette habit with successive lanceolate leaves produced from a compact base; a free-flowering species that adds elegant linear texture to any collection.

Additional Notes

Arrival & Establishment Recommendation: Pot promptly upon arrival in a well-draining, chunky aroid mix (bark, perlite, and coco coir). Water thoroughly to rehydrate the roots and place in a warm, humid spot away from direct sun for the first two weeks.
