Information

Anthurium croatii 'Ecuagenera'

A rare pedate-leaved species from the cloud forests of South America, belonging to the distinctive section Schizoplacium. It produces palmately divided leaves with narrow, lanceolate to elliptic leaflets arranged in a spreading, architectural fan on slender, upright petioles.

  • Light: Bright indirect light with 50–70% shade cloth; avoid direct sun, which can scorch the thin leaflets.
  • Temperature: 60–75°F (15–24°C); an intermediate-warm grower that performs best with stable, humid conditions.
  • Humidity: 65–85%; consistent humidity supports vigorous growth and prevents leaflet tip burn.
  • Watering: Water thoroughly and allow the top layer to approach dryness before the next watering; avoid prolonged waterlogging or complete desiccation.
  • Growth Habit: Upright and clumping over time, with a bold, sculptural silhouette unlike typical cordate anthuriums — the pedate leaf division gives it a dramatic, palm-like presence that makes it a standout specimen in any collection.

Additional Notes

Plants are shipped bare root and well established. Upon arrival, plant promptly in a well-draining mix (bark, perlite, and sphagnum) and water thoroughly to rehydrate the roots before placing in a warm, humid environment.
