Описание

This is a miniature, cool to cold growing epiphyte that is native to Ecuador. It is found in wet, montane cloud forests. The plant grows with a creeping rhizome and small, erect ramicauls that each carry a single, apical, ovate leaf.

  • Light: Shady conditions with indirect light. Avoid direct sunlight.
  • Temperature: Cool conditions, 50-65°F (10-18°C) during day, 45-55°F (7-13°C) at night.
  • Humidity: High humidity, 70-80%.
  • Watering: Keep moist but not waterlogged. Use well-draining medium and allow slight drying between waterings. 

Additional Notes

This orchid produces small, single yellow-green flowers. Its most distinctive feature is the trowel-shaped lip, which gives the species its name.
