Alocasia heterophylla 'Metallic Blue'

A striking aroid from the cloud forests of Southeast Asia, bearing elongated, arrow-shaped leaves with a deeply corrugated surface and a pronounced iridescent sheen. The foliage is held upright on slender petioles, giving the plant a bold, architectural presence suited to collectors of rare Araceae.

• Light: Bright indirect light with 50–70% shade cloth; avoid direct sun, which causes bleaching and loss of the metallic sheen.
• Temperature: 65–82°F (18–28°C); a warm tropical grower that should not be exposed to temperatures below 60°F (15°C).
• Humidity: 70–90%; high humidity is essential to maintain leaf integrity and the characteristic iridescent texture.
• Watering: Water thoroughly when the top inch of substrate begins to dry; never allow the roots to sit in standing water or dry out completely.
