Описание

Описание

A botanically unique species from the cloud forests of South America, producing long, pendulous, highly branched spikes densely set with numerous small flowers of a remarkably distinctive structure. The sepals and petals are reduced to extremely narrow, thread-like, reflexed filaments, creating a striking contrast with the large, inflated, saccate lip that bears a bold yellow-orange callus and dark spotting at its base.

  • Light: Bright indirect light with 50–70% shade cloth; avoid direct sun, which can damage the delicate foliage.
  • Temperature: 55–72°F (13–22°C); a cool to intermediate grower that thrives in stable, fresh conditions with good air movement.
  • Humidity: 70–90%; high humidity supports healthy root activity and optimal flowering.
  • Watering: Water frequently in small amounts, keeping the roots slightly moist but never waterlogged; do not allow to dry out completely.

Additional Notes

Best grown mounted on cork or tree fern to accommodate its pendulous spikes and allow free air circulation around the roots. Plants are shipped bare root and well established.
