Information

Описание

Описание

A compact and distinctive species from the cloud forests of Ecuador, producing solitary flowers on short scapes from the base of the pseudobulbs. The blooms are fleshy and triangular in overall form, with broad, concave sepals that curve inward to create a tightly hooded structure, and a deeply curved, heavily mottled lip nestled within the interior.

  • Light: Bright indirect light with 50–65% shade cloth; avoid direct sun, which can stress the upright, strap-like foliage.
  • Temperature: 50–68°F (10–20°C); a cool grower that thrives with good temperature drops at night and excellent air circulation.
  • Humidity: 70–85%; high humidity is essential for this cool-growing species; pair with strong airflow to prevent fungal issues.
  • Watering: Water thoroughly and allow the mix to partially dry between waterings; avoid prolonged saturation at the root zone.

Additional Notes

Best grown in a well-draining bark-based mix in a small to medium pot. A fascinating collector's species prized for its unusual, tightly hooded flower structure. Shipped bare root in well-established condition.
