Описание

Описание

A remarkable miniature species from the cloud forests of Ecuador, prized for its large, iridescent, dark-mottled leaves and its unusual habit of producing flowers directly on the leaf surface (epiphyllous inflorescences). The tiny blooms feature translucent, star-shaped sepals framing a prominent globose labellum with upswept contrasting petals at the center.

  • Light: Bright indirect light with 50–70% shade cloth; avoid direct sun to preserve the iridescent leaf surface.
  • Temperature: 50–68°F (10–20°C); a cool grower with a minimum tolerance around 45°F (7°C).
  • Humidity: 80–90%; maintain consistently high humidity with good air circulation to prevent fungal issues.
  • Watering: Keep roots evenly moist at all times; water frequently and avoid any prolonged dry periods.

Additional Notes

Best grown in a small pot with fine sphagnum moss or mounted to showcase its ornamental foliage. Its compact size and epiphyllous blooms make it a fascinating addition to any terrarium collection. Ships bare root, well-established.
