Information

Epidendrum fimbriatum pink

A compact, multi-stemmed orchid native to the cloud forests of Ecuador, producing erect racemes with medium-sized flowers featuring broad ovate sepals, wide petals, and a large trilobed lip with deeply fringed margins and contrasting spotted markings at the center. A floriferous cool-growing species well suited to intermediate-cool collections.

  • Light: Bright indirect light with 50–60% shade cloth; avoid direct midday sun, which can scorch the narrow foliage.
  • Temperature: 50–68°F (10–20°C); a cool grower that requires cold nights characteristic of high Andean cloud forests to thrive and bloom reliably.
  • Humidity: 75–85%; high humidity supports vigorous stem development and prolific flowering.
  • Watering: Water thoroughly and allow the substrate to approach dryness between waterings; avoid prolonged saturation at the roots.

Additional Notes

Best grown in a well-draining bark-based mix. The deeply fringed lip and spotted markings are best appreciated up close. Ships bare root, well-established.
