Описание

Описание

A compact sympodial orchid native to the cloud forests of Ecuador, producing short racemes with fleshy flowers featuring broad, rounded sepals and a large bell-shaped cucullate lip with a velvety, papillose surface and an iridescent sheen. The sculptural floral structure makes it a prized species among collectors.

  • Light: Bright indirect light with 50–60% shade cloth; avoid direct midday sun, which can scorch the foliage.
  • Temperature: 55–72°F (13–22°C); an intermediate grower that thrives with stable temperatures and good air circulation.
  • Humidity: 70–85%; consistent humidity supports healthy pseudobulb development and reliable flowering.
  • Watering: Water thoroughly and allow the substrate to approach dryness between waterings; avoid prolonged saturation at the roots.

Additional Notes

Best grown in a fine, well-draining bark-based mix or mounted on cork. The velvety, iridescent lip is best appreciated up close, making it a standout specimen for collectors. Ships bare root, well-established.
