Описание

A reed-stem orchid native to the forests of Ecuador, producing loose corymbs of highly distinctive flowers with very long, narrow, spotted sepals and petals and a small tubular lip bearing deeply fringed margins that extend into long, hair-like filaments — the criniferous fringe that gives the species its name. The very narrow, linear leaves and freely branching habit add to its unusual, collector-worthy character.

  • Light: Bright indirect light with 50–60% shade cloth; avoid harsh direct sun, which can stress the slender foliage.
  • Temperature: 59–79°F (15–26°C); an intermediate-warm grower that thrives with warm days and mild nights.
  • Humidity: 70–85%; consistent humidity supports healthy stem development and reliable flowering.
  • Watering: Water regularly and allow the substrate to approach dryness between waterings; avoid prolonged saturation at the roots.

Additional Notes

Best grown mounted on cork or in a small pot with a fine, well-draining bark mix. The hair-like lip fringes are best appreciated up close, making it a standout specimen for collectors. Ships bare root, well-established.
