Cyclopogon argyrotaenius

A terrestrial jewel orchid from the cloud forests of South America, forming a compact, spreading rosette of linear-lanceolate leaves with serrate margins and a bold, contrasting central stripe running the full length of each leaf. Grown primarily for its striking foliage, it is one of the most ornamental members of the Spiranthinae subtribe in cultivation.

• Light: Low to medium indirect light with 60–80% shade cloth; avoid direct sun, which can scorch the patterned foliage and fade the central stripe.
• Temperature: 55–75°F (13–24°C); a cool to intermediate grower that benefits from stable, mild temperatures and good air circulation.
• Humidity: 65–85%; consistent humidity supports healthy leaf development and maintains the ornamental foliage pattern.
• Watering: Keep the medium evenly moist but never waterlogged; allow the surface to dry slightly between waterings to prevent crown rot.

Additional Notes

Best grown in a shallow pot with a well-draining, humus-rich terrestrial mix. Avoid wetting the center of the rosette to prevent rot. Shipped as a well-established plant, ready to pot upon arrival.
