Описание

One of the most architecturally dramatic species in the genus, producing flowers with fully separated, spreading sepals and an exceptionally elongated dorsal cauda that projects steeply upward, while two shorter lateral caudas curve downward — creating a striking, asymmetric silhouette that evokes a bird in flight.

  • Light: 50–70% shade cloth; bright, diffused light. Avoid any direct sun exposure.
  • Temperature: 45–68°F (7–20°C); Cool to Intermediate grower. Consistent cool nights are essential for healthy growth and blooming.
  • Humidity: 70–90%. Requires high humidity at all times; excellent air movement is critical to prevent fungal issues.
  • Watering: Keep evenly moist; never allow the roots to dry out completely. Water frequently with good drainage to avoid stagnation.

Additional Notes

Grown by Ecuagenera in the highlands of Ecuador, this species is a standout for collectors seeking unusual floral architecture. Best grown in small pots with a fine, well-draining mix. Plants are shipped bare root and well-established.
