Epidendrum purum

A large reed-stem epiphyte from the cloud forests of South America, producing spectacular, highly branched panicles with numerous pendant, densely flowered secondary racemes cascading outward like a fountain. The small, star-shaped flowers are borne in great abundance along each branch, creating a breathtaking, multi-tiered floral display above broad, strap-like leaves.

• Light: Bright indirect light with 40–60% shade cloth; avoid direct midday sun to prevent stress on the broad foliage and tall stems.
• Temperature: 57–78°F (14–26°C); an intermediate-warm grower that adapts well to stable warm conditions with moderate night temperature drops.
• Humidity: 65–85%; good air circulation around the stems and roots helps support the large, branched inflorescences and prevent fungal issues.
• Watering: Water thoroughly and allow the medium to approach dryness between waterings; avoid standing water at the roots.

Additional Notes

Best grown in a well-draining bark-based mix or in baskets to allow the spectacular pendant panicles to cascade freely. Plants are shipped bare root and well established, ready to settle into their new growing environment.
