Information

Epidendrum Andean Clouds

A floriferous hybrid of Epi. hugomedinae × Epi. jasminosmum, producing large, densely packed corymbs crowded with numerous small, star-shaped flowers with narrow sepals and a trilobed lip. The reed-stem canes are upright and vigorous, making this an impressive specimen when in full bloom.

  • Light: Bright indirect light with 50–60% shade cloth; avoid harsh direct sun, which can scorch the strap-like leaves.
  • Temperature: 55–72°F (13–22°C); an intermediate grower that thrives with stable temperatures and good air movement.
  • Humidity: 70–85%; consistent humidity supports vigorous cane development and abundant flowering.
  • Watering: Water thoroughly and allow the substrate to approach dryness between waterings; avoid prolonged saturation at the roots.

Additional Notes

A primary hybrid between two Andean cloud forest species, combining the floriferous habit of both parents. Grow in a well-draining bark-based mix. Ships bare root, well-established.
