A magnificent unifoliate species from the coastal forests of South America, producing a robust sympodial growth habit with smooth, compressed pseudobulbs. The terminal inflorescences emerge from newly matured growth to display a spectacular presentation of large, heavily textured, and wonderfully fragrant blossoms.
Providing strong air movement around the container helps ensure optimal development and uniform flowering cycles for this medium-sized plant with very large flowers. It ships bare root and should be gently rehydrated at an intermediate temperature before being potted immediately upon arrival.
Arrived as a good size plant but no live rootsÖ no surprise travelling to Canada. Then I made the mistake of bury the rhizome too deep causing rot. I managed to catch it in time and removed the bad portion. It is now recovering in a small pot, pushing new roots and pseudobulb.
Fast shipping, well packed, healthy plant. 6 weeks after arrival plant is producing new roots and growths.
I was at the greenhouse yesterday and saw a TON 'Camilas'. I picked one up intending to take it home...just because the plants were grown so beautifully and putting out new leads all over the place. I had no idea Miss Camila is an especially dark lueddeminniana and fetches $$$...I got C. trianae instead.
The plant I received had 2 new psuedobulbs. They Were weak and spindly and could not support their own weight. Their sheaths has blackened. This plant was large enough and it should survive. Not sure it was worth the $100.00 price.
The plant I received yesterday looks healthy and this is the most important. It looks still a bit young and I feel it might need at least one year until flowering size, but I might be surprised (and I love this kind of surprises).
