Ceratostema jorgebritoi Culture
Introducing Ceratostema jorgebritoi, a newly described species from the Ericaceae family, dedicated to Jorge Brito-Molina, a biologist from Gualaquiza, Ecuador, who has significantly contributed to the scientific knowledge of the region's fauna. This distinctive plant adds to the rich biodiversity of the southeastern Andes of Ecuador.
The plant, which is unavailable from anyone else in the world, arrived in great condition. There were a couple of small broken stems, but the caudex and the larger stems were undamaged and the plant is still very attractive. The plant suffered no transplant shock at all and is already resuming growth. I have ordered a few plants (mostly orchids) from Ecuagenera, and they have always outperformed my hopes.
Thank you so much, Jason! Your review truly means a lot to us. We're thrilled to know that this rare plant arrived in such good condition and is already growing strong with no transplant shock — especially considering its uniqueness and the journey it made!
It’s wonderful to hear that you not only enjoyed the plant but also discovered something new about the genus — that’s the kind of connection to nature we love to inspire. Knowing that our plants have consistently exceeded your expectations is the best reward we could ask for.
Thank you for your continued trust in Ecuagenera. We look forward to sharing more botanical discoveries with you!
Warmest regards,
Ecuagenera Team.
I ordered 4 plants and unfortunately this one did not make it. When I unboxed it I could tell there would be issues. Most of the leaves were withered, still green but doing pretty poorly. It died soon after as did the Macleania pentaptera. I have ordered the same 2 again and hopefully will have a better outcome. Will I still keep ordering from Ecuagenera? Yes.
