This adaptable lithophytic orchid is celebrated for its temperature tolerance and unique growing characteristics, making it an interesting specimen for collectors seeking versatile orchid species.
This small orchid has compact leaves and pseudobulbs that look great mounted or potted. It's a rock-growing species that needs good airflow and can adapt to different growing setups. Unlike many Bulbophyllum orchids, it tolerates various temperatures, making it easier to grow in different climates.
I recently purchased Bulbophyllum ambrosia as part of a pre-order to the Calgary Orchid Show. The plant had several growths and was healthy with lots of live roots. I immediately mounted it and added it to my terrarium. I’m looking forward to it’s first blooms after it settles in.
Thank you for your positive review! We are glad to hear that your recent purchase of Bulbophyllum ambrosia is thriving in your terrarium. We hope you enjoy its first blooms once it has settled in. Thank you for choosing us and happy growing!
I ordered this plant with a Brassavola Cucullata which arrived in terrible condition. This Bulbophyllum I got was just slightly better then the cucullata. It dropped nearly all its leaves and had very shriveled pseudobulbs. I think it may survive which I expressed to Ecuagenera, I am not pleased with this company and I hope that my second order (placed before I received my first) makes it worth all the hasssle. As of right now I won't be ordering from them again especially since they barely attempted to make it right. I wonder if I didn't have my second order would they have even tried to replace the plant? (Which they didn't)
