I have grown masdevallias before, both the warm and cool growers. I have not grown M. asterotricha yet. Right now we are having very hot temps, so I will keep it inside with my other ‘cool’ orchids until the milder fall temperatures. Hopefully I’ll be able to keep it happy enough for it to bloom.
