Description

Description

This miniature epiphytic orchid from the cloud forests of Ecuador was described by the Ecuagenera research team. It is celebrated for its incredibly tiny, translucent, emerald-green flowers.

  • Light: Requires bright, filtered, or indirect light. Protect it from direct sun to prevent leaf damage, but ensure enough brightness to promote continuous blooming.
  • Temperature: Prefers cool to intermediate conditions. Ideal temperatures range between 54-75°F (12-24°C). A significant nightly temperature drop is essential for its health and flowering.
  • Humidity: High humidity is essential, with ideal levels of 70-85% or higher. This orchid relies heavily on atmospheric moisture for survival.
  • Watering: The growing medium must be kept uniformly moist at all times. It cannot tolerate drying out. Water or mist daily, ensuring the media has fast drainage.

Additional Notes

The microscopic flowers succeed one another on thread-like inflorescences and are famous for their brilliant emerald-green color. It is best grown mounted or in small pots with a fine medium to maintain the necessary cool, humid conditions.
