Maxillaria Fabricio Suarez

A hybrid of Max. molitor × Max. anacatalinaportillae, two species from the Andean cloud forests. It produces large, showy flowers simultaneously on upright scapes among long, lanceolate leaves, combining the broad, undulate sepals of one parent with the bold, trilobed lip and dark throat of the other.

• Light: Bright indirect light with 50–70% shade cloth; avoid direct sun, which can scorch the long leaves.
• Temperature: 50–68°F (10–20°C); an intermediate-cool grower that benefits from cool nights and stable conditions.
• Humidity: 65–85%; high humidity supports vigorous growth and the impressive multi-flowered display.
• Watering: Water thoroughly and allow the mix to approach dryness between waterings; avoid prolonged saturation at the roots.

Additional Notes

Ships bare root and well-established — pot promptly upon arrival in fine bark mix and water generously to rehydrate the roots. Best grown in a standard pot with good drainage in a cool greenhouse setup.
