Description

Description

A striking xanthina form of a miniature to compact species native to the cloud forests of South America. Offered in a large, well-established size, it forms dense clumps of narrow, upright leaves and produces successive flowers on slender, erect spikes.

  • Light: Bright indirect light with 50–70% shade cloth; avoid direct sun, which can quickly stress the foliage.
  • Temperature: 50–68°F (10–20°C); an intermediate to cool grower that requires good air movement and cooler nights to thrive.
  • Humidity: 70–85%; high humidity is essential for healthy growth and consistent blooming.
  • Watering: Keep the substrate evenly moist at all times; Masdevallias lack pseudobulbs and cannot tolerate drying out between waterings.

Additional Notes

Best grown in a small pot with fine, moisture-retentive bark or sphagnum moss to maintain consistent moisture. Plants are shipped bare root and well established; pot promptly upon arrival and water thoroughly to rehydrate the roots.
