Description

Description

A compact creeping epiphyte widely distributed across the tropical forests of the Americas, forming low, spreading mats of stiff, erect stems with distichously arranged, rigid, leathery leaves. Slender, upright spikes emerge from the stem tips bearing small, tightly clustered buds that open into delicate, inconspicuous flowers.

  • Light: Bright indirect light with 30–50% shade cloth; tolerates slightly more light than many Epidendrum species, which encourages vigorous stem growth.
  • Temperature: 60–85°F (16–29°C); a warm grower that thrives with stable warm to hot conditions year-round.
  • Humidity: 60–80%; good air movement around the creeping stems and roots helps prevent fungal issues.
  • Watering: Water thoroughly and allow the medium to approach dryness between waterings; the rigid, succulent-like leaves tolerate brief dry periods well.

Additional Notes

Best grown mounted on cork or tree fern to accommodate its creeping, mat-forming habit, or in a shallow, very open bark mix. Plants are shipped bare root and well established, ready to adapt quickly to their new growing environment.
