Information

Description

Description

A compact epiphyte endemic to the cloud forests of Ecuador, bearing large, showy flowers on short stems with broad, oval, leathery leaves. The blooms display broad, rounded, spreading sepals and petals with dense reticulate mottling across the entire surface, alongside a large, rounded, spreading lip with a vivid contrasting yellow-green callus at its center, all with a waxy, glossy texture throughout.

  • Light: Bright indirect light with 50–70% shade cloth; avoid direct sun to preserve the compact habit and waxy floral texture.
  • Temperature: 45–65°F (7–18°C); a cool grower that thrives with cool nights and consistent temperature fluctuations between day and night.
  • Humidity: 75–90%; good air movement around the roots and stems is essential to prevent fungal issues.
  • Watering: Water thoroughly and allow the medium to approach dryness between waterings; avoid standing water at the roots.

Additional Notes

Best grown in a well-draining bark-based mix or mounted on cork. Plants are shipped bare root and well established, ready to settle into their new growing environment.
