Dendrobium Pepe Portilla (Big)

A cross between Den. agathodaemonis and Den. cuthbertsonii, this compact hybrid is celebrated for its extraordinarily long-lasting flowers and prolific blooming habit. Vivid, jewel-toned blooms are produced continuously throughout the year under the right cool conditions, making it one of the most rewarding miniature Dendrobiums for serious collectors.

• Light: Moderate indirect light with 50–60% shade cloth; avoid direct sun to prevent overheating.
• Temperature: Cool grower. Daytime 58–68°F (14–20°C), nighttime 48–55°F (9–13°C); consistent cool conditions are essential for continuous blooming.
• Humidity: 70–85%; use a humidifier or terrarium with constant air movement to prevent rot at roots and crown.
• Watering: Keep the medium evenly moist at all times; never allow roots to dry out completely, and ensure excellent drainage.

Additional Notes

Best grown mounted on cork bark or tree fern, or in very small pots with fine sphagnum moss; the strong influence of Den. cuthbertsonii makes it exceptionally long-blooming but demanding of cool, humid conditions.
