Information

Description

Description

A showy epiphyte from the cloud forests of Central and South America, producing large, star-shaped flowers with broad, spreading sepals and petals and a vivid yellow trilobed lip with a prominent white column. The flowers emerge on upright scapes alongside the foliage, making for a striking display.

  • Light: Bright indirect light with 50–70% shade cloth; avoid direct sun, which can scorch the leaves.
  • Temperature: 55–72°F (13–22°C); an intermediate grower that benefits from stable conditions and good air circulation.
  • Humidity: 60–80%; consistent humidity supports vigorous growth and reliable blooming.
  • Watering: Water thoroughly and allow the mix to approach dryness between waterings; avoid prolonged saturation at the roots.

Additional Notes

Ships bare root and well-established — pot promptly upon arrival in fine bark mix and water generously to rehydrate the roots. Best grown in a standard pot with good drainage.
