Information

Description

Description

A distinctive miniature epiphyte native to the cloud forests of Ecuador, bearing elongated lanceolate leaves with prominent reticulate venation and a rich reddish-purple flush on the underside. Tiny flowers are produced directly on the leaf rachis near the apex, featuring connate sepals forming a compact structure and small bilobed petals.

  • Light: Bright indirect light with 50–70% shade cloth; avoid direct sun, which can scorch the ornamental foliage.
  • Temperature: 55–75°F (13–24°C); an intermediate grower that appreciates stable temperatures and consistent air movement.
  • Humidity: 70–90%; maintain high humidity with good airflow to prevent fungal issues.
  • Watering: Keep evenly moist; water regularly in small amounts and avoid prolonged dryness at the roots.

Additional Notes

Best mounted on cork or tree fern, or potted in a fine, well-draining mix (sphagnum moss or fine bark). Ships bare root, well-established.
