Description

Description

A miniature to small-sized orchid native to the eastern Andes of Ecuador, where it grows in humid montane forests. It is found growing terrestrially or on rocky substrates, forming slender stems with narrow, leathery leaves adapted to the constantly moist cloud forest environment.

  • Light: Requires bright, indirect light. Provide good light levels while protecting the plant from the intense midday sun.
  • Temperature: A cool to intermediate grower native to elevations of approximately 1,800–2,000 meters. Ideal temperatures range between 55–78°F (13–26°C), with cooler nights favoring flowering.
  • Humidity: Prefers high humidity levels of 70–85% combined with excellent air circulation. Consistent humidity is important to maintain vigorous growth.
  • Watering: Water regularly throughout the year, keeping the growing medium evenly moist but well-drained. Avoid prolonged dryness, especially during active growth.

Additional Notes

Produces dense, foxtail-like terminal inflorescences with numerous small, fragrant flowers. Plants are shipped bare-root, ready to be established in their new growing environment.
