Information

Description

Description

A robust creeping epiphyte endemic to the cloud forests of Ecuador, forming spreading mats of thick, leafy stems with large, broad, leathery leaves. Solitary, large flowers emerge directly from between the uppermost leaves, displaying broad, rounded sepals and petals alongside a wide, open lip with a vivid green throat.

  • Light: Bright indirect light with 40–60% shade cloth; avoid direct midday sun to prevent stress on the broad, leathery foliage.
  • Temperature: 57–78°F (14–26°C); an intermediate-warm grower that adapts well to stable warm conditions with moderate night temperature drops.
  • Humidity: 65–85%; good air movement around the creeping stems and roots helps prevent fungal issues.
  • Watering: Water thoroughly and allow the medium to approach dryness between waterings; avoid standing water at the roots.

Additional Notes

Best grown mounted on cork or in a shallow, well-draining bark mix to accommodate its creeping, mat-forming habit. Plants are shipped bare root and well established, ready to settle into their new growing environment.
