Description

Description

A miniature form of the classic Epi. nocturnum, widely distributed across the tropical forests of the Americas, producing solitary flowers on short stems with small, oval, leathery leaves. The bloom displays an extraordinarily elongated, needle-like erect dorsal sepal, narrow reflexed lateral sepals and petals, and a three-lobed white lip with a slender, pendant central lobe and a vivid yellow callus. Flowers release a delicate nocturnal fragrance, making this compact variety especially rewarding in a small growing space.

  • Light: Bright indirect light with 40–60% shade cloth; avoid direct midday sun to prevent stress on the small, leathery foliage.
  • Temperature: 57–78°F (14–26°C); an intermediate-warm grower that adapts well to stable warm conditions with moderate night temperature drops.
  • Humidity: 65–85%; good air movement around the roots and stems is essential to prevent fungal issues.
  • Watering: Water thoroughly and allow the medium to approach dryness between waterings; avoid standing water at the roots.

Additional Notes

Best grown mounted on cork or in a small, well-draining bark-based mix. Plants are shipped bare root and well established, ready to settle into their new growing environment.
