Information

Description

Description

A compact sympodial orchid native to the cloud forests of Ecuador, bearing pendant racemes of numerous small, tubular flowers with narrow, spreading sepals and petals. The ovoid pseudobulbs carry bicolored leaves with contrasting upper and lower surfaces, giving the plant ornamental appeal even out of bloom.

  • Light: Bright indirect light with 50–60% shade cloth; avoid direct sun exposure, which can stress the foliage.
  • Temperature: 50–68°F (10–20°C); a cool grower that benefits from the temperature drops typical of Andean cloud forest conditions.
  • Humidity: 75–85%; high ambient humidity encourages healthy pseudobulb development and prolific flowering.
  • Watering: Water thoroughly and allow the substrate to approach dryness between waterings; avoid waterlogging at the roots.

Additional Notes
