Description

Description

An eye-catching epiphyte from the tropical forests of Southeast Asia, producing dense umbellate inflorescences with numerous small flowers arranged in a tight semicircular fan, their narrow, elongated sepals radiating outward from a compact golden-orange center. It grows with a creeping rhizome and well-spaced pseudobulbs, each topped by a single firm, leathery leaf.

  • Light: Bright indirect light with 40–50% shade cloth; tolerates slightly more light than many Bulbophyllum species.
  • Temperature: 65–86°F (18–30°C); a Warm grower with a minimum tolerance around 60°F (16°C).
  • Humidity: 70–85%; mount or grow in a basket with good air movement to keep roots healthy.
  • Watering: Water frequently during active growth, allowing the medium to approach dryness briefly between waterings; avoid prolonged saturation at the roots.

Additional Notes

Best grown mounted on cork or tree fern to accommodate its creeping habit, or in a wide shallow basket with a coarse, open bark mix. Plants are shipped bare root and well-established.
