Masdevallia Pink Mist 'Canary'

A primary hybrid between Masd. strobelii and Masd. coccinea, combining the compact, robust growth habit of the first parent with the large, globose floral structure of the second. The 'Canary' cultivar is a rare, exceptionally pale selection within this cross — flowers are large and well-formed, with broad, inflated sepals fusing into a wide, rounded cup and a short, upright dorsal sepal, all carried proudly above a dense rosette of broad, fleshy leaves.

• Light: 70–80% shade cloth; bright indirect light. Avoid direct sun, which scorches the leaves.
• Temperature: 52–68°F (11–20°C) — Intermediate to cool grower. A consistent day-to-night temperature drop helps trigger blooming; avoid prolonged exposure above 72°F (22°C).
• Humidity: 80–90%. Maintain strong air circulation to prevent fungal rot at the crown and roots.
• Watering: 2–3 times per week; keep roots evenly moist at all times. No pseudobulbs — cannot tolerate drying out. Use soft, low-mineral water when possible.

Grown and propagated by Ecuagenera in the highlands of Ecuador. Best suited for intermediate to cool growing setups. Shipped bare root, well-established.
