A rare and sought-after Ericaceae species prized for its pendulous, tubular flowers that attract hummingbirds in its native cloud forest habitat — offered here in a larger-than-standard commercial size, representing a mature, well-established specimen ready to make an immediate impact in any collection. Ceratostema pepeportillae is a true collector's gem among Andean epiphytic shrubs, combining ornamental foliage with spectacular floral displays.
Additional Notes
Endemic to Ecuador at elevations of 2,000–3,000 meters in Andean cloud forests, named in honor of botanist Pepe Portilla. Best grown in a well-draining mix of orchid bark, perlite, and sphagnum moss, or mounted on cork bark to accommodate its epiphytic habit.
