Description

Description

A stunning coerulea form of the classic Brazilian species, prized for its delicate lavender-blue flowers with darker labellum. This intermediate to warm-growing Cattleya produces fragrant blooms on compact plants, making it an exceptional choice for collectors seeking rare color forms of this beloved species.

  • Light: Bright light, equivalent to 30-50% shade cloth. Cattleyas require high light levels to bloom abundantly.
  • Temperature: Intermediate to warm conditions with daytime 70-85°F (21-29°C), nighttime 60-65°F (16-18°C). A 10-15°F temperature drop between day and night promotes flowering.
  • Humidity: 50-70% with good air circulation. Tolerates lower humidity than many orchids once established.
  • Watering: Water thoroughly when medium approaches dryness, typically every 5-7 days during active growth. Reduce watering after pseudobulbs mature and during winter rest period. Ensure excellent drainage.

Additional Notes

The 'Aquimi coerulea' cultivar features rare lavender-blue tones instead of typical pink coloration. Blooms in spring to early summer with 2-5 fragrant flowers per inflorescence. Easy to grow and ideal for beginners.
