The flowers are remarkably ornamental for the genus: three rounded, oval sepals with a finely granular, papillose surface texture surround a prominent, bright globose column — creating a striking, almost three-dimensional bloom.

• Temperature: 50–65°F (10–18°C); a cool grower that thrives with consistent cool temperatures and strong airflow.
