Spathoglottis Heart's Blood

A hybrid of Spa. Kimballina × Spa. Primer, two terrestrial species from the cloud forests of South America. It produces upright flower spikes with rounded petals and a compact, clumping growth habit.

• Light: Bright indirect light with 40–60% shade cloth; avoid harsh midday sun, which can scorch the leaves.
• Temperature: 60–80°F (15–27°C); an intermediate to warm grower that appreciates stable temperatures without cold drafts.
• Humidity: 60–80%; higher humidity encourages vigorous blooming and lush foliage.
• Watering: Water thoroughly and allow the top layer of substrate to dry slightly between waterings; avoid waterlogged conditions.

Additional Notes

This hybrid combines the floriferous nature of Spa. Kimballina with the robust vigor of Spa. Primer, producing a well-adapted terrestrial orchid with strong ornamental appeal. Plants are shipped bare root and well established; pot promptly in a well-draining terrestrial mix and water thoroughly upon arrival.
