Description

Description

The Philodendron patriciae is a rare and striking climbing species, it's highly admired for its exceptionally long, narrow leaves that hang elegantly with a shiny, subtly quilted texture. This hemiepiphyte requires a climbing structure to develop its largest leaves.

  • Light: Prefers bright, indirect light. Adequate light is necessary for robust growth. Direct sunlight must be avoided as it can easily scorch the foliage.
  • Temperature: Thrives best in warm, stable temperatures, ideally between 68-81°F (20-27°C). It is sensitive to cold, and growth will slow below 60°F (15°C).
  • Humidity: Prefers moderate to high humidity, ideally 60% or more. Good air circulation helps prevent fungal issues on its large leaves.
  • Watering: Water when the top inch of the potting mix feels dry to the touch. Use a loose, well-draining aroid mix to prevent waterlogging.

Additional Notes

This climbing Philodendron benefits greatly from a sturdy, moisture-retentive support, such as a moss pole or plank. Climbing encourages the development of larger, more mature leaves.
