Paphiopedilum Saint Swithin

A floriferous hybrid of Paph. philippinense × Paph. rothschildianum, two of the most prestigious multifloral slipper orchid species from Southeast Asia. It produces tall, multi-flowered inflorescences with a broad dorsal sepal bearing bold dark striping, long horizontally spreading petals with dark spotting along the margins, and a well-defined slipper-shaped labellum — combining the best structural traits of both parents into an imposing floral display.

• Light: Bright indirect light with 40–60% shade cloth; avoid direct sun, which can scorch the strap-like foliage and stress the plant during bud development.
• Temperature: 60–82°F (16–28°C); an intermediate to warm grower that benefits from a slight temperature drop at night to encourage spike initiation.
• Humidity: 60–80%; consistent humidity supports healthy root and foliage development between bloom cycles.
• Watering: Keep the medium evenly moist but never waterlogged; Paphiopedilums lack pseudobulbs and cannot tolerate drying out completely.

Additional Notes

Offered as a well-established plant of approximately 20 cm, shipped bare root. Best grown in a fine to medium bark mix or perlite-based medium with excellent drainage. A landmark hybrid for any serious slipper orchid collection.
