Maxillaria sanderiana x Max. sanderiana black lip

A select intraspecific cross of Max. sanderiana × Max. sanderiana black lip form, bred to intensify the dramatic lip pigmentation of one of the most impressive species in the genus. The blooms are large and commanding, with broad, flat, rounded tepals and a prominent trilobed lip with well-developed lateral lobes heavily marked with deep spotting and dark veining at the center — a refined selection for the serious collector.

• Light: Bright indirect light with 40–60% shade cloth; avoid direct sun, which can bleach the broad, strap-like foliage.
• Temperature: 50–72°F (10–22°C); an intermediate-cool grower that appreciates cooler nights and excellent air circulation to perform at its best.
• Humidity: 65–80%; consistent humidity is essential for healthy root development and prolific blooming.
• Watering: Water thoroughly and allow the mix to partially dry between waterings; avoid prolonged saturation at the root zone.
