Dracula hirtzii f. xanthina

Dracula hirtzii f. xanthina is an exceptional color form of this cloud-forest orchid, valued for flowers that express luminous yellow to yellow-green tones rather than the deeper pigmentation associated with typical forms. Natural variation in shade and markings gives each plant individual character, while the intricate blooms and elongated sepal tails retain the dramatic presence of the species.

Care Guide

• Light: Provide low to medium, filtered light and protect the foliage from direct sun.
• Water: Keep the roots consistently moist throughout the year, preferably using clean, low-mineral water. Never allow the medium to dry completely.
• Humidity: Maintain high humidity with continuous, gentle air circulation to prevent stagnant conditions.
• Temperature: Grow in cool to intermediate conditions with cooler nights, avoiding prolonged heat.
• Growing medium: Use an open basket filled with a fine, moisture-retentive orchid mix so descending flower spikes can emerge through the sides and bottom.

With cool temperatures, soft light, humid moving air, and dependable moisture, Dracula hirtzii f. xanthina can become a luminous centerpiece in a specialized orchid collection.
